We're currently seeking a talented Operations focused Mid-Level
DevOps Engineer with a focus on AWS services and a strong emphasis
on automation, CI/CD pipelines, and troubleshooting web services to
join our growing team.Role Overview:The Engineer will be
responsible for maintaining and improving our infrastructure across
both cloud (primarily AWS) and on-premise data-center environments.
The role requires an in-depth understanding of cloud-native
services, automation tools, CI/CD pipeline management, security
best practices, and troubleshooting web-based services. The ideal
candidate will have a passion for continuous improvement and a
strong focus on automation, enabling our DevOps team to operate
efficiently and maintain highly reliable systems while empowering
development teams to release faster while maintaining application
stability. Please note that the hours for this position are PST.Key
Responsibilities:
- AWS Infrastructure Management: Maintain, optimize, and scale
cloud resources in AWS. Leverage services such as EC2, S3, RDS,
Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, and others to ensure reliable,
scalable, and secure operations.
- CI/CD Pipeline Management: Develop, maintain, and improve CI/CD
pipelines to streamline application deployment across various tech
stacks. Ensure high availability and continuous integration across
all codebases (Java, Node.js, Python, PHP, .NET).
- Automation & Configuration Management: Use automation and IAC
tools such as Ansible, Chef, Terraform, CloudFormation, or custom
scripts (Bash, Python, PowerShell) to ensure efficient
infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Troubleshooting & Incident Management: Troubleshoot and resolve
issues related to web services hosted on Apache, IIS, and NGINX
servers. Provide rapid and effective solutions to system outages,
performance issues, and other operational challenges.
- Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices across
the infrastructure, including encryption, IAM roles, security
groups, and other AWS security features. Conduct regular audits to
ensure compliance with security policies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers, system
administrators, and other team members to ensure systems are
operating smoothly. Provide guidance on best practices and help
ensure cross-team coordination on infrastructure projects.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and manage infrastructure
using code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.), enabling repeatable,
predictable, and consistent infrastructure deployments.
- Documentation: Maintain clear, concise documentation for
infrastructure setup, processes, and procedures to ensure that
solutions are maintainable and understood by the
team.Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in a DevOps role or equivalent, with a
strong focus on operations, cloud infrastructure, and
automation.
- Networking: Comfortable with maintaining networks in both AWS
cloud and on-premise datacenter environments. Understanding of
networking concepts such as routing, network ACLs, and subnetting
as well as experience with troubleshooting network connectivity
issues.
- AWS Experience: In-depth knowledge of AWS services (EC2,
Networking, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.) and cloud best practices. 3+
years experience managing multiple interconnected AWS
accounts.
- Web Servers: Strong hands-on experience with web services
hosted on Apache, IIS, and NGINX, including performance
optimization and troubleshooting.
- CI/CD Tools: Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines using
tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or similar.
- Automation and IAC Tools: Proficiency in using automation and
configuration management tools such as Ansible and Chef. Experience
with IaC tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to manage
and provision cloud infrastructure.
- Scripting/Programming: Proficiency in scripting languages like
Bash, Python, and PowerShell for automating routine tasks and
writing custom solutions.
- Security Practices: Solid understanding of security principles
in the cloud and on-premises environments, including securing web
servers, cloud resources, and network configurations.
- Collaboration & Communication: Strong communication skills,
capable of working autonomously as well as within a collaborative
team environment.Nice to Have:
- 2-5 years of experience in web application development (Java,
Node.js, Python, PHP, .NET).
- Experience in database infrastructure management in clustered,
high-availability environments.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such
as Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus,
