City.About the RoleThe Assistant Chief Program Officer (ACPO) will
work closely with the Chief Program Officer and the Organization's
leadership to ensure the provision of high-quality services and
supports to achieve organizational and programmatic goals in a
mission-driven culture. The ACPO will support the work of the
Organization by advising and providing consultation to the Chief
Program Officer, Senior Vice Presidents, and Vice Presidents of
programs, serving as a liaison between programs and the
administrative departments of the organization, supporting the
growth of the organization through strategic program development
and enhancements to service delivery.In addition to the duties
listed below, the ACPO will serve as the Chief of Staff to the
Chief Program Officer and supervise the Centralized Intake and
Referral Department as well as the Program Expansion and
Enhancement Coordinator.ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be
assigned.Active commitment to organizational mission and vision and
providing high-quality programs. Support a high-performing culture
aligned with Rising Ground's expectations and core values.Working
closely with the Chief Program Officer and organization leadership
to ensure success in program operations. This includes but is not
limited to:
- Managing initiatives that impact programs, specifically
initiatives that affect multiple programs to ensure consistent
implementation.
- Working closely with the Institutional Advancement Department
and program leadership to support mission-driven program
development and expansion, including governmental contracts,
fee-for-service programming, and supplemental funding through
private foundations.
- Supporting expansion into new areas of service by ensuring that
new business is fiscally viable, mission consistent, and that the
organization has the capacity to successfully launch and
implement.
- Managing the implementation of PROMISE, the Organization's
trauma-informed, person-centered system and philosophy of service
delivery.
- Managing all accreditations for programs and divisions,
ensuring compliance and preparedness for reviews, and exploring new
accreditation opportunities when appropriate.
- Serving as the lead in ensuring that all programs have
person-supported advisory boards that meet oversight requirements.
Developing protocols for these advisory boards as necessary and
working with program leadership to ensure their
implementation.
- Managing special projects.Directly supervising the Intake and
Referral Department, maximizing enrollment in programs, ensuring
efficiencies in internal referral processes, and exploring the
appropriateness of including additional programs in the centralized
intake process.Directly supervising the Program Expansion and
Enhancement Coordinator, supporting the operation of the
Organization's programs by ensuring high-quality service delivery,
developing enhanced programming within and across divisions, and
supporting the development of new programming.Collaborating with
support divisions within the organization such as Finance, Human
Resources, Performance, Evaluation and Measurement, General
Counsel, Institutional Advancement, Program Development, and other
program areas.Ensuring that program operations are executed in
accordance with the Organization's policies and oversight
regulations.Raising the Organization's profile through external
communications, representation at key events, and serving on
advisory boards, relevant committees, and task forces.
- Keeping abreast and maintaining knowledge of current trends,
research, and best practice models.Supervisory
ResponsibilitiesServes as the Chief of Staff to the Chief Program
Officer, directly supervising the Intake Supervisor and the Program
Expansion and Enhancement Coordinator. Responsible for the overall
direction, coordination, and evaluation of these divisions,
carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the
organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities
include interviewing, hiring employees, planning, assigning,
directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining
employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
Identifying and providing opportunities for professional growth and
development. Working with staff to develop a system to ensure
high-quality consistent programs and organizational
goals.Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent, plus seven to ten years of
experience managing high-performing teams in a multi-site,
multi-service structure, including professional development and
mentorship.
- Comprehensive working knowledge of program planning,
programmatic regulations, requirements, budgets, and current best
practices.
- Expertise in one or more of the following service areas: youth
development, child welfare and juvenile justice, intellectual and
developmental disabilities, community-based service provision,
health services, managed care.
- Experience in data-driven evaluations and analyses, with the
ability to work closely with the finance department to budget and
monitor programmatic operations to ensure sound fiscal and system
management.
- Ability to work closely with the Performance, Evaluation and
Measurement Department to ensure the delivery of qualitative and
quantitative goals and outcomes of programs and services, analyzing
and assessing programs based on data collected and implementing
corrective measures as required.Supervisory ResponsibilityYesWork
Environment:Corporate OfficePosition Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday
through Friday in our Headquarters at 1333 Broadway office in
Midtown Manhattan. Work hours options are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, 9:30
am - 5:30 pm, or 10 am - 6 pm.Additional Requirements:
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to work in-person in New York City (NY) for at least 3
days or more per week.
- Ability to travel to other Rising Ground sites.Application &

pay rate for this position is between $190,000 - $210,000/Yr.,
depending on experience and fit for the role. Rising Ground offers
competitive compensation based on the midpoint of the market among
not-for-profit organizations of similar size. We believe in
