To: Director of Public EngagementThe International Center of
Photography (ICP) is the world's leading institution dedicated to
the practice and understanding of photography and the reproduced
image in all its forms. Through our exhibitions, school, public
programs, and community outreach, we offer an open forum for
dialogue about the role images play in our culture.Since our
founding, we have presented more than 700 exhibitions and offered
thousands of classes, providing instruction at every level.ICP is a
center where photographers and artists, students and scholars can
create and interpret the world of the image.Position
Summary:Responsible for maintaining a strong visual presence in the
museum store, make managerial decisions pertaining to buying
photobooks, stock control, and e-commerce site, attend meetings and
events as necessary; and perform other related duties as
assigned.Essential Functions and Duties:Retail Sales, and
BuyingAssist the Director of Public Engagement and Shop Manager
with buying / ordering and maintaining appropriate stock
levels.Build SKU files, review sales reports for reorder needs in
all merchandise categories.Order placement and generate PO
documents for sign-off.Alongside Shop manager responsible for
purchasing photobooks.Manage all retail invoices and record
expenses in budget management charts.Develop relationships with
vendors and attend meetings. MerchandisingEnsure timely merchandise
displays, and stock replenishment.Identify and assist with any
inventory issues that arise.Help identify and sell excess
inventoryManage annual inventory count.E-commerceAlong with DPE and
Shop Manager build and maintain an e-commerce website and all its
components including product choice, site settings and edits; must
gain or have previous knowledge of e-commerce.Manage e-commerce
production and marketing schedule; meet deadlines for optimal sales
and seasonality.Other duties as assigned by Senior DirectorAttend
gift / trade shows and retail conferences.Supervisory
Responsibilities:Cross-train and develop Retail Shop
ManagerEducation Requirement:BA, BBA and/or five plus years in a
retail managing and / or buying environmentMinimum one plus years
in e-commerce environmentMinimum Experience Requirement:Experience
with project and customer service management preferredProficient in
Microsoft Office Suite and POS systemsKnowledge in Photoshop and
InDesignSecond language a plusWorking Conditions:Physical
