their best work.The Chief Financial Officer will report to Adam
Epstein, Co-CEO/President and will serve as a member of the
Executive Team. This person will oversee the Finance, Accounting,
People Operations, Pricing and Legal departments.Primary
Responsibilities
- Own all operating plans and FP&A to include revenue models,
avails models, demand models, variable compensation models
(executive compensation), product development cost, budget vs
actual/forecast analysis and insights, pricing/yield, treasury
management, OpEx/budgets, payroll, audit and board reports.
- Responsible for ensuring the performance of all fiscal tasks
necessary to achieve adMarketplace's mission and execute growth
strategies.Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited
to:
- Providing critical financial and operational information to the
Co-CEO and making actionable recommendations on fiscal strategy,
management, internal technology and operations.
- Participating with Co-CEO and senior leadership team in
multi-year strategic planning, annual prioritization and goal
setting, the development of new initiatives, drafting of
prospective budgets and determining cost effectiveness of the
initiatives.
- Overseeing long-term budgetary planning and costs management in
alignment with adMarketplace's strategic plan.
- Systematically monitoring, reviewing, and upgrading systems,
policies, controls, accounting standards, training, and procedures
to improve efficiency and effectiveness of all financial
operations.
- Leading staff and systems to develop and manage robust
financial planning, budgeting, spending, and analysis.
- Routinely communicating accurate short- and long-term financial
information to the Co-CEO's and Board.
- Providing quarterly financial reporting to the Board, as well
as ongoing financial reports to management of all departments as
requested.
- Working with a 3rd party to ensure fiscal elements of state
regulatory filings are complete and correct.
- Advancing new revenue opportunities by structuring creative and
beneficial financial relationships and partnerships.Operational
Management
- Leading the development of systems and procedures to assess and
manage risks to adMarketplace.
- Reviewing and authorizing all contracts for services; in
collaboration with the Controller, Finance and Legal team,
reviewing and authorizing all disbursements of funds.
- Ensuring that adMarketplace operates within accepted legal
standards and in accordance with all legal requirements, and to
best practice standards.
- Systematically monitoring, reviewing, and upgrading systems,
policies, risk management controls, and procedures to maintain the
highest standards of operational excellence.Compensation and
Benefits Management
- Participating in the annual review and evaluation of
adMarketplace's benefits and benefit providers.
- Leading Senior Leadership Compensation and overseeing
compensation strategy across the entire organization.Team
Management
- Mentoring and developing a team of direct reports, managing
work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance
evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic.
- Guiding larger, cross-divisional teams outside of direct span
of control within adMarketplace where appropriate, as issues
arise.
- Creating accountabilities, and developing goals; setting
objectives, reviewing, and managing staff performance, mentoring
and developing individuals to achieve excellence, original thought,
and proactivity in all aspects of their work.
- As a member of the executive team, serving as a key thought
partner and advisor to the Co-CEO and, with other members of the
executive team, providing cultural and strategic leadership to the
organization.
- Leading by example and modeling a culture of collaboration,
transparency, open communication, and dynamism.
- Influencing and inspiring team members at all levels to achieve
the highest standards of excellence.Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of 15 years experience with 2-3 years of related,
full-time working experience at the CFO/COO level within the media,
technology or adtech industries. Will also consider a similar level
from a PE/VC firm or a strong candidate looking to transition to
CFO.
- An MBA or similar advanced degree preferred.
- Preferred experience in M&A and/or Corporate
Development.
- Demonstrated understanding of finance, business management,
strategic planning, accounting, IT, and operations to elicit
credibility with all levels of management and drive business
decisions in a positive manner.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and developing
high-performing teams and leading and collaborating with senior
colleagues.
- Strategic thinker and demonstrated track record of sound and
objective judgment.
- Seasoned and mature leader of people and processes.
- Ability to proactively anticipate and address functional and
organizational trends.
- Excellent written and verbal skills including ability to
present to the Board of Directors in a clear and concise style and
be comfortable answering probing questions and making thoughtful
suggestions.
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with database and
spreadsheet applications.
- An ability to inspire and motivate others; strong interpersonal
skills.*Compensation Range: $400,000 - $600,000 + 50% - 80% Bonus &
