qualified PICU RN in New York City, New York, 10029 Pay Information
$2,866 per week About The Position Job Title: Pediatric Intensive
Care Unit (PICU) Nurse Job Specialty: Critical Care Nursing Job
Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Every other weekend,
plus a 4th shift per month) Guaranteed Hours: 34.50 Hours per Week
Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Pediatric ICU/Critical Care in a
hospital setting License: Registered Nurse with current
registration Certifications: BLS, PALS Must-Have: Pediatric ICU
Experience, BSN Job Description: - Provide safe, competent, and
quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated
group of patients and significant others. - Deliver patient care by
incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of
Relationship Centered Care, applying nursing processes based on
theory, research, and best practices. - Assess and evaluate patient
care needs, applying critical thinking skills in patient care
management. - Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills
in the delivery of nursing care. - Collaborate with the
interdisciplinary healthcare team in the development,
implementation, and evaluation of care plans. - Prioritize patient
care, including teaching, rounding, coaching, planning
after-hospital care, and delegating when appropriate. - Educate
patients and caregivers on care plans, transitions of care, health
promotion, and disease prevention. - Communicate effectively and
professionally with patients, family, and all members of the
interdisciplinary patient care team. - Manage assignments within
the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing and demonstrate
effective allocation of material resources. - Role model the tenets
of Relationship Centered Care through initiating service recovery,
facilitated actions like Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report,
Purposeful Hourly Rounding, and more. - Consider patient values,
preferences, cultural diversity, expressed needs, and knowledge in
all aspects of care. - Establish and maintain therapeutic
relationships with patients and families. - Implement
evidence-based practices to enhance understanding of patients'
perceptions of care. - Collaborate on quality improvement projects,
evidence-based practice activities, and nursing research studies. -
Practice safe, efficient, patient-centered care while identifying
and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement. - Engage
in formal and informal peer and institutional review processes. -
Use institutional information technology to document nursing
practices supporting quality and performance improvements. -
Demonstrate clinical skills and knowledge crucial to patient
quality and safety. Note: Manual dexterity, physical and mental
health are necessary to perform various clinical procedures and
care for acutely ill patients. Proficiency in English (reading,
