*This position offers up to a $20k sign-on bonus*BluePearl Pet Hospital in vibrant Downtown Manhattan, NY, is seeking a passionate and skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated Emergency + Critical Care team for overnight shifts.Working overnight offers unique benefits, including quieter commutes, a more focused work environment, and shift differentials to boost your earning potential.Plus, youll enjoy a 3-day workweek with long stretches of time off, giving you a consistent schedule to prioritize your personal lifeall while making a meaningful impact in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.Pay: $28.00 - $55.00 / hour + competitive shift differentials (see below)This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. *Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. For example:Mon Fri: 6pm to 8am = +$4.50/hr. Shift DifferentialSat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = +$8.00/hr. Shift DifferentialSat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = +$4.50/hr. Shift DifferentialAs a Veterinary Technician, you will:Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital and follow them from ER treatment to admission in our intensive care unit.Perform anesthesia for minor procedures like bite wound repairs, lacerations, etc.Perform digital radiography, utilizing sedation and other restraint/positioning techniques.Use your understanding of normal patient vital signs to monitor and identify patients who are at risk for arrest.Have the opportunity to be certified in both BLS and ALS RECOVER CPR for freeProperly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.Be proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters.Learn to place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.Additional relevant responsibilities.Why BluePearl?We encourage you to grow with us.Our Continuing Education Plan includes $500/year reimbursement for CVT and $750/year for VTS. The Continuing Education allowance can roll over up to $1,500 for CVT and VTS associates. Non-Credentialed, full-time Paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150. Full-time CVT associates also receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year. Full-time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year. Paid CE hours can be carried over year to year up to a maximum of 24 hours.
