$322,000.00What's the role?Etsy seeks a highly motivated and
experienced Engineering Director to lead our App Enablement teams,
focusing on the iOS and Android platforms, observability, and
release processes for our mobile buyer products. This role will
involve developing and driving a comprehensive strategy for five
engineering teams, directly impacting our mobile product
development's developer experience and velocity. Your primary goal
will be to empower app engineers to build with modern and
consistent tools and practices by investing in app architecture,
quality signals, delivery mechanisms, and education. You will
collaborate closely with internal customers to understand their
needs and ensure that our platform investments directly support
their ability to deliver high-quality features quickly and
confidently. This leadership role requires a strong native mobile
technical background and excellent communication skills.This is a
full-time position reporting to the Product Enablement Group Lead.

engineering team within our Product Enablement Group, responsible
for creating tooling, modern architectural patterns, and
development practices that enable other app engineers at Etsy to
build faster and with more confidence. Since mobile is the

- Manage and mentor five engineering teams, fostering a culture
of collaboration, innovation, and high performance.
- Develop and implement a broad strategy for App Enablement that
aligns with Etsy's overall mobile product vision.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the engineering
teams, ensuring alignment with best practices, modern
architectures, and Etsy's long-term technology strategy.
- Partner closely with product, design, and other engineering
teams to understand their needs and ensure the App Enablement
platform effectively supports their goals.
- Identify and address key challenges related to mobile
development, such as code discoverability, release processes, and
tech adoption. Champion innovative solutions and drive their
implementation across the organization.
- Manage resources effectively, including budget allocation,
vendor relationships, and tool selection. Ensure teams have the
resources they need to succeed.
- Continuously evaluate and improve existing processes for mobile
development, release management, and observability. Identify
opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.
- Effectively communicate updates, progress, and challenges to
stakeholders, including senior leadership. Provide regular reports
on key metrics and initiatives.
- Actively participate in recruiting and onboarding top
engineering talent. Foster a culture of learning and development
within the teams.

this role are:
- Deep understanding of native mobile development on iOS and
Android platforms and experience with relevant programming
languages (Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, Java), frameworks, and
tooling.
- Proven ability to develop and implement comprehensive
technology strategies, aligning with business objectives and
driving impactful results.
- Experience in building and managing high-performing engineering
teams, including hiring, mentoring, and developing senior and
front-line managers.
- Strong ability to collaborate effectively with internal
customers, understand their needs, and translate them into
actionable technical solutions.
- Solid understanding of mobile-specific technologies and
processes, such as push notifications, release management, mobile
security, and performance optimization.
- Experience with mobile architecture patterns, design
principles, and best practices, including experience with
modularization, testing, integration, and delivery.Additional
