Job Description:
Volunteer Program CoordinatorAbout This Opportunity The
Volunteer Coordinator will report to the Assistant Director of HR
and Engagement, providing support for the delivery of group
volunteering events for corporate, public and community groups.
This will include assisting with hands-on facilitation of volunteer
activities in the Garden as well as with pre- and post-activity
administration. They will also support the planning and execution
of the Summer Youth Employment Program. This is an exciting
opportunity to be part of creating impactful experiences for
hundreds of volunteers and interns at QBG and building community
support for a non-profit organization. QBG seeks an organized,
innovative and personable individual to coordinate our
well-established and growing volunteer and internship programs. The
right candidate excels at working with individuals and groups of
all ages and diverse backgrounds. This position relies heavily on
the ability to forge new relationships while maintaining
long-standing partnerships. A creative problem solver with
flexibility and a can-do attitude is a must. Responsibilities
include:Coordinate and support outdoor group volunteer projects
including planning supplies needed, tracking registration,
welcoming volunteers, taking attendance and photographs, and
overseeing day-of activities. Supporting partnership recruitment,
interviewing and onboarding of individuals for short and long-term
volunteer/internship opportunities. Support supervision of summer
intern providing volunteer program administrative support. Solicit
corporate, school and non-profit groups to fulfill departmental and
event support needs. Partner with school/community organizations to
place interns and long-term volunteers. Plan and lead orientations,
workshops and trainings for interns and volunteers. Maintain
records for all volunteers through Better Impact Portal including
contact and demographic information, policy agreements, and
required documentation. Develop and facilitate volunteer
recognition programs and engagement activities. Track volunteer
data and produce summary reports. Request supplies needed for
program and track program expenses. QualificationsBachelor's degree
in administration, psychology, human resources or a related fieldAt
least 2 years of experience working in human resources, or with
volunteers or intern programs Motivation to make an impact within a
nonprofit organization Ability to communicate and engage
effectively with a diverse range of people Excellent communication,
inter-personal skills, and experience interfacing with the public,
including presenting in front of groups Strong written
communication skills Impeccable time-management skills Proficient
in Microsoft Office and Canva Prior experience or comfort with
working with individuals with special needs a plus Bilingual
language skills, English and Spanish or Chinese, a plusSchedule &
SalaryThis is a part-time seasonal position. This position is
available from April to August, Tuesday through Friday, for the
following schedule:April and May: 14 hours/ week June: 21 hours/
week July through mid-August: 28 hours/ week Mid - End of August:
