DETAILSNew York City College of Technology (City Tech) of the City

students earn their college degree as quickly as possible, by
removing the financial, academic, and personal obstacles that many
students confront. Key ASAP-ACE program features include a
consolidated block schedule, cohorts by major, required full-time
study and comprehensive advisement and career development services.

www.cuny.edu/ASAP.Reporting to the ASAP-ACE Program Manager -
Collaborative Strategies, the Program Specialist for Student
Engagement will assist with strategizing and implementing student
engagement efforts. They will work closely with all program staff
on initiatives and interventions that support and promote student
success and increase access to academic and personal
resources.Responsibilities include:
- Develop engagement strategies to support student success and
assist program in meeting retention goals and benchmarks.
- Document and track student participation in engagement efforts,
in relation to student retention.
- Connect new and continuing ASAP-ACE students to campus
resources, scholarships, and engagement opportunities.
- Develop and facilitate student success workshops, panels, and
events on various topics, e.g. graduation celebrations, time
management, test anxiety, college transition, co-curricular
involvement, and experiential learning.
- Monitor and provide follow-up to student communications for
exited, re-engaged and probation populations.
- Serve as the primary coach for the peer mentoring program.
- Provide advising and mentoring support to a cohort of students
(up to 50 students) as needed.
- Assist with alumni program events and activities
planning.QUALIFICATIONSMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in
an appropriate discipline and four years' related
experience.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Educational
Administration, Educational Psychology and/or Social Work is
preferred, and may be substituted for two of the four years' of
related experience.
- Experience working with comprehensive (associate and
baccalaureate) college students, especially in special programs
with a cohort-model.
- Demonstrated experience developing, coordinating and
facilitating engagement experiences for students aimed at
increasing persistence and retention.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multiple
program units with various stakeholders, and to cultivate and
develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with
students, faculty, staff and community members.
- Experience with CUNYfirst or PeopleSoft/Oracle student
