You will be responsible for inspecting the first production piece of each run to verify it meets quality requirements before mass production begins. This position requires a keen eye for detail and an understanding of aerospace materials, drawings, and specifications.Key Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed inspections of the first piece produced in a batch, ensuring it meets specifications and quality standards.
• Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
• Conduct dimensional and visual inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools.
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of first piece inspections.
• Communicate with production teams to ensure any deviations or non-conformances are addressed before full-scale production.
• Collaborate with engineers and quality teams to resolve any quality concerns or issues.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, including AS9100, ISO 9001, and other relevant regulations.
• Identify and document defects, non-conformities, or deviations in parts and report them to the Production Manager for timely resolution.Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree or certification in a related field is a plus).
  • At least 4 years of experience as a First Piece Inspector, preferably in the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and quality standards.
  • Experience with precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes and non-destructive testing methods is a plus.Additional Preferred Qualifications:
    • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector or similar certification.
    • Experience with CAD software is a plus and other inspection-related tools.
