Job Description:
The Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating,
monitoring, and maintaining the credentialing and re-credentialing
processes. Facilitates all aspects of The Institute for Family
Health credentialing, including initial appointment, reappointment,
expirables process, as well as clinical privileging for Medical
Staff, Allied Health Professionals, and all other providers
outlined in the organization's Professional Staff Policy and
Procedure manual, or related contracts. The Credentialing
Coordinator will ensure interpretation and compliance with the
appropriate accrediting and regulatory agencies. Will develop and
maintain a working knowledge of the NYS regulations and laws
relating to credentialing for the accuracy and integrity of the
credentialing database system and related applications. The
Professional Staff/Credentialing employees work under the direct
supervision of the Vice President of Human Resources.

Responsibilities:
Responds to requests for application for medical staff membership
and/or clinical privileges, and processes applications for
appointments, reappointments, and requests for clinical
privileges.
Verifies licensure, education, training and other requirements
designated by medical staff policy.
Reviews completed file for accuracy and identifies problem areas to
be brought to the attention of a supervisor.
Inputs relevant data into the credentialing database.
Identifies and obtains current verification of expirables data
elements.
Maintains working knowledge of changes and upgrades in computer
programs.
Keeps files accurate and up-to-date.
May attend and support Credentials Committee meetings.
May assist in the collection of pertinent practitioner performance
data for use at the time of reappointment and/or renewal of
privileges.
May review privilege requests for adherence to required
criteria.
Maintains current knowledge of governing documents, accreditation
standards, and regulatory requirements, and serves as an internal
resource, consultant, and educator, alerting appropriate medical
staff leadership regarding changes and compliance requirements.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Assist with Delegated Audits
High school diploma or GED required
Bachelors degree preferred
1 year of experience directly related to human resources,
administration, customer service, medical staff or managed care
credentialing required
