Title: Senior Manager - Excise & Motor Fuels Tax

Location: Houston, TX (100% Onsite)
Duration: Fulltime
Salary: 160K-175K (25% target bonus, 401K, health benefits, etc.)

Responsibilities:
Manage and prioritize the preparation of motor fuel and sales/use monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns,

Lead and manage federal, state, and local motor fuel and sales tax audits. Identify and communicate tax advice, feedback, and solutions with key stakeholders,

Develop month-end general ledger tax reconciliation best practices making certain tax payments are posted and accurate,

Develop working process to ensure motor fuel and sales/use tax rates are maintained and updated.


Must Have:
BBA in Accounting

CPA or CMI

4+ years of experience with excise & motor fuels tax determination & audit defense

2+ years of experience leading teams & projects - experience coaching more junior tax analysts

Trading industry and ETRM experience in preferred

Tax software is a plus (i.e. Avalara, Zytax, Vertex, etc.)
