OverviewAssistant Professor of Chemistry and Physics.
Appointment at the Associate Professor level will be considered for
the qualified candidate.Responsibilities
- Teaching: Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 (lab and lecture) required;
General Chemistry 1 and 2 (lab and lecture); advanced courses
within the candidate's area of expertise.
- Advisement: Undergraduate student academic advisement.
- Service: As required to further the Mission regarding the
Department, University, and Community, including but not limited to
textbook selection, course and lab design, and committee
work.QualificationsEducation/Experience
- Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry required.
- Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry required.
- Proven (peer-reviewed publication, presentations, etc.) track
record of research involving undergraduate students is
required.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to develop positive and cooperative
relationships with students, faculty, and colleagues required.
- Familiarity with online learning platforms including Banner,
Canvas, Blackboard, and Adobe Connect required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in communication (written and verbal)
required.
- Familiarity with chemical laboratory safety issues
required.
- Ability to design and implement novel teaching lab modalities
required.
- Ability to set up and maintain a research program involving
undergraduate students required.TravelThe position is located
mainly at our Brooklyn campus. Occasional teaching at our other
undergraduate campuses in the New York area is
expected.SalaryMaximum Salary: USD $78,883.00/Yr.Minimum Salary:
USD $63,106.00/Yr.
