Job Description:
Lead and execute the organization's sustainability strategies,
overseeing environmental impact goals, and ensuring compliance with
ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting frameworks.
Guide the development and management of sustainability and climate
programs across the organization, ensuring compliance with industry
standards and advancing the organization's sustainability goals.
Promote and advance sustainable practices, as well as enhance
UNFCU's brand reputation and awareness. Serve as a subject matter
resource, advocate, and manager of sustainability initiatives,
climate reporting, and ESG across the organization.

NYC Salary range: $140,000 - $160,000 annually; compensation is
commensurate to geographic location.

Assist FVP to develop and execute the company's long-term
sustainability strategy in pursuit of organization's impact goals,
ESG standards, and credit union industry best practices.
Lead the organization's data aggregation, analysis, and reporting
processes following approved ESG frameworks. Manage and collaborate
with consultants, and with guidance from FVP, manage budget of ESG
initiatives.
Lead the coordination, planning, and execution of the annual United
in Sustainability (UIS) Summit in collaboration with GSP Program
Managers and the GII team. Organize the quarterly meetings for the
UIS Advisory Council by managing the logistics, speakers, and
agendas.
Collaborate with Program Managers of UNFCU's Global Sustainability
Program (GSP) to develop and execute projects and initiatives
focused on sustainability and climate risk. Provide feedback to
program sponsors and stakeholders on the progress of initiatives.
Manage initiatives to assess, reduce, and report on UNFCU's
emissions.
Collaborate with GSP Program Managers to input and manage
sustainability GHG accounting data platform and any other data
collection platforms used for sustainability measurement and
reporting. Oversee data input by internal teams and use GRI
guidance to disclose approved material topics.
Serve as a subject matter expert on sustainability, providing
updates and participating in knowledge building for internal and
external stakeholders. Research and provide updates on
sustainability trends and changing regulations as applicable. In
consultation with the FVP, lead the internal education of UNFCU
leaders and employees about sustainability and climate-related
activities.
Provide information and guidance to UNFCU departments on
sustainability and ESG products and initiatives. Work with ERM and
other departments on the assessment and mitigation of climate risk
for UNFCU.
Provide updates on progress to impact goals and measures in
relation to the sustainability initiatives and balanced score card
metrics.
Collaborate with the Corporate Marketing team and other colleagues
on materials to report on sustainability including annual Impact
Report, reports to UN Global Compact, and ESG-related
materials.
Present at GSP and stakeholder meetings. Provide process
improvement ideas and suggestions to the leadership team.
Maintain working knowledge of current best practices, innovations,
and trends within sustainability in the credit union industry,
financial services, and at the United Nations, with special
emphasis on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and
related policy developments.
Execute overall Global Impact and Inclusion goals by providing
perspectives and insight, as well as project management
expertise.
Partner with leaders of other GII areas to help coordinate and plan
GSP-related events and initiatives.
Participate in department and organization level meetings.
Work on process improvement and developmental initiatives as
directed by manager.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations and
UNFCU's Code of Ethics & Business Conduct.
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in the
sustainability space and 5 years of experience in project/program
management. Master's degree in Sustainability or related field
preferred
Experience in ESG frameworks, managing sustainability-based
initiatives, processes, or programs involving the collection,
analysis, and reporting of program data. Strong knowledge of
domestic and international sustainability standards and frameworks
required
Knowledge and experience aligning initiatives with the UN
Sustainable Development Goals preferred
Knowledge of other UN programs, partnerships, and related entities,
such as the UN Global Compact is a plus
