together.The Technology Business Enablement (TBE) team powers
American Express Tech Strategy by driving Predictability,
Transparency, and Efficiency through best-in-class Tech enablers.
Within TBE is the Technology Portfolio Management team (TPM) which
powers technology, business, and product to achieve business and
customer value by optimizing technology investments, elevating
transparency and enabling decisioning through trusted insights and
best in class portfolio and program management.Within the
Technology Portfolio Management Team the VP, Portfolio Management,
will lead a -600M Technology portfolio and lead relationship
management for Technology and Business leaders. The Vice President,
Portfolio Management will be responsible for portfolio stewardship
and analytics, risk management, and issue resolution. In addition,
the Vice President, Portfolio Management will be responsible for
operating expense management as well as the development of a
high-performing team of Tech Portfolio colleagues. This role will
be instrumental in maintaining an effective and consistent
engagement and operating model across the business and
technology.What you'll do:
- Proactively manage financial planning and forecasting across a
Technology investment portfolio, including scenario planning and
analytics.
- Manage capacity risks, negotiate trade-offs, and ensure
headcount forecasts and actuals are accurate and aligned to
financial targets.
- Lead annual and in-year planning processes to ensure Technology
investment is aligned to the highest priorities and optimized
across spend categories.
- Establish consistent reporting and team goals to enable data
governance and integrity.
- Design and implement portfolio insights standards to support
leaders in actively managing portfolio risks and issues.
- Build a strong partnership with Tech Finance to collaborate and
create deliverables for forecasting, annual and long-range
plans.
- Develop and coach your team through process, tooling, and
reporting changes while establishing a common knowledge base across
all team members.
- Evangelize standard processes & reporting with Engineering
leaders and Product partners to increase adoption and drive
decisions, while identifying opportunities to continuously
improve.
- Help to build a fun and engaged hybrid workplace culture across
TSPM.Who you are:
- 10+ years of experience in large program management, product
management, and/or portfolio management.
- 5+ years leading, developing, and mentoring high performing
teams.
- An excellent communicator with the ability to engage,
influence, and inspire others to work towards shared outcomes.
- Data-driven and analytical, adept at developing hypothesis and
the analytics to support conclusions.
- Excellent at building relationships at all levels and with both
internal and external partners.
- Able to balance multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced,
dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with PPM and Financial reporting software (Apptio,
Oracle, Rally, Jira, Clarity, etc.)
- Located in NY and willing travel up to 10%.Employment
eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S is required as
the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these
positions.Salary Range: $210,000.00 to $300,000.00 annually + bonus
+ equity (if applicable) + benefits.The above represents the
expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in
