direction of the Developmental Evaluation Specialist, Chief of
Service and/ or Medical Director will provide return visit
evaluations and developing evidence-based plans of school and
community-based services to best serve each child and family as
they transition back to their primary care medical homes. Will do
New evaluations under direct supervision.Areas Of
Responsibilities
- Developmental and Behavioral PediatricsSummary Of Duties And
Responsibilities
- Applies basic professional practice knowledge and skills
appropriate for practice setting. Communicates effectively, both
verbally and in documentation.
- Formulates a plan of care that considers individual patient
needs by assessing children and adolescents with a wide range of
developmental-behavioral disorders including autism spectrum
disorders, intellectual disabilities, learning disorders, and
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, as well as children with
high risk factors for developmental-behavioral disorders, such as
Down syndrome.
- Seeks guidance and asks questions to continuously improve
professional practice.
- Builds relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
Identifies ethical situations within patient care or within the
workplace and seeks assistance.
- Identifies patient and family needs for education. Provides
basic education to support the episode of care.
- Demonstrates a basic knowledge of research, how it affects
practice and who/what resources are available to assist with
evidence-based practice by asking questions and demonstrating
interest.
- Clinical practice demonstrates knowledge of how quality and
innovation impact patient satisfaction, safety, and clinical
quality outcomes.
- Identifies opportunities for improvement in the clinical
area.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate clearly and effectively
with all members of the health care team. Cares for patients and
self by supporting safety in the workplace.
- Demonstrates accountability for professional development that
improves the quality of professional practice and the quality of
patient care.
- Makes recommendations for the improvement of clinical care and
the health of the workplace and welcomes and participates in change
initiatives.
- Begins to serve as an engaged member of a team supporting
colleagues in service to patients and families
- Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to effectively
interact with patients, family, physicians, and hospital staff in
fulfilling duties and responsibilities of position.
- Critical thinking, willingness to learn, motivation to grow,
and empathy.Minimum Qualifications
- A valid New York State license and current registration to
practice as a Registered Professional Nurse issued by the New York
State Department of Education (NYSED); and
- Current certificate as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the
NYSED; and
- Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and
current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the
American Heart Association (AHA).Department
