on providing airline employees as well as the end users with the
best in-flight connectivity service. In this position you will be
an integral part of the DevOps Commercial Mobility team and make
significant impacts to the commercial airline flights that take
place every day. Your responsibilities will range from developing
software that is able to scale across multiple commercial airline
fleets to creating new products and services to monitoring and
maintaining existing services for the commercial airline passenger,
flight crew, mechanics, and installers.The day-to-dayThis team owns
and maintains the following services: Kubernetes on the MAS
platform; AppsKVM w/Kubernetes cluster; Cloud based MAS (cMAS) i.e.
Kubernetes development and testing; and Conformance used for
monitoring, fixing, logging and testing of the Kubernetes
cluster.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME)
- Routinely influences design decisions and resolves issues to
align to business needs
- Works on and may lead project of diverse scope
- Provide architecture decisions and integrations that impact
multiple products
- Routinely develops and delivers technical briefings
- Collaborate with other teams to define the problem to be
solved/feature to be designed, and then works autonomously with
little instruction on day-to-day work.
- Demonstrates judgement to obtain relevant and timely results
and metrics using appropriate methods and tools.
- May recommend or be involved in evaluating new methodology and
influencing its adoption.
- May lead technical design reviews and is effective at
communicating technical ideas.
- Helps project leaders make informed decisions by providing
technical solutions
- Helps teams enforce and adopt industry standard
methodologies
- May work across multiple teams/groups contributing to technical
decisions
- Working cross-functionally to obtain new skillsets
- Identifies opportunities to improve product performance, cost,
reliability and security
- Participates in design, product implementation, test,
production, and operations reviews
- Mentors junior team membersWhat you'll need
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience and
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer
Engineering, Math & Computer Science, and/or a related field.
- Programming experience with different languages such as
Python/C/C++/Java/GoLang in a Linux development environment
- Strong proficiency with container technologies such as Docker
or Kubernetes
- Technical and software engineering background in the areas of
cloud computing, enterprise computing, servers, networking, and
virtualization technology and products
- Broad range of technology interests across different
disciplines including computer and system architecture, performance
analysis, distributed systems design, testing and verification
technologies, and networking
- Ability to work on distributed remote agile teams with a high
degree of self-motivation and independence
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to drive
interaction with customers, peer developers and project
managers
- Experience with or eagerness to learn Agile Scrum
methodologies, modern software development environments, and DevOps
practices
- Experience with Linux, Networking, Systems, and Security
- Travel up to 10%What will help you on the job

large-scale distributed systems

sense of ownership and driveSalary range$144,000.00 - $205,500.00 /
annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San
Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base
pay range for this role is $179,000.00- $242,000.00/ annually.EEO
