Location: Middletown, NYSalary: 64,580.00 AnnuallyHours: Monday-Friday 10:00AM-6:00PM (40hrs)OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The behavior interventionist demonstrates and promotes 100% commitment to providing the best possible experience for individuals served and direct and indirect supports.
  • The Behavior Interventionist will meet and engage parents of children and adults who are experiencing potential developmental delays in their homes.
  • The Behavior Interventionist will identify screening measures to identify delays, lead to possible intervention plans, and recommend diagnostic testing as needed.
  • The Behavior Interventionist will analyze available data to help determine where, when, and why problem behaviors occur.
  • The Behavior Interventionist will provide brief treatment and linkage to ongoing services or in some cases may provide more intensive treatment including developing ABA plans and training family members and supports on the implementation of the plan.
  • The Behavior Interventionist ensures respect for each person's and his/her family's life choices and individuality, facilitating quality outcomes for the people served and the community.
  • The Behavior Interventionist will provide training to the behavior clinician team, Direct Support Professionals, and other agency staff on the principles and implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis.
  • The Behavior Interventionist will promote teamwork across all disciplines.
  • The behavior interventionist will work with the FSS Orange County Crisis team to better meet the needs of underserved populations.
  • The Behavior Interventionist will respond to Mobile Mental Health/Urgent care referrals as needed.
  • The Behavior Interventionist will assist with community outreach and staff trainings.
  • The Behavior Interventionist will report to and work closely with the BCBA/LBA.PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
  • Inspires and promotes customer engagement and satisfaction.
  • Obtain, review and analyze behavior data regularly and make recommendations based on data.
  • Work to reduce stigma.QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES
  • Effective communication.
  • Possess excellent relationship-building skills, as well as organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to function as a member of a multidisciplinary team including leadership teams.
  • Possess sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
  • Ability to organize, multitask, and prioritize duties and responsibilities efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Must maintain current license/certification/training.
  • Possess a valid driver's license, work eligibility status, and have an excellent driving record.
  • Familiarity with OPWDD and OMH systems and eligibility requirements.
  • 2-3 years of experience conducting comprehensive functional assessments required.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • A Bachelor's degree in human services required with some experience with developmental disabilities.
  • Interest in pursuing Master's degree in social work, mental health counseling, or applied behavior analysis preferred.PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
