available.Executive Director/Licensed Nursing Home Administrator,
Seneca Hill ManorProvide leadership, direction, and administration
of all aspects of The Manor at Seneca Hill to ensure compliance
with all regulatory agencies, as well as established objectives.
Oversees the operation of the facility and provides direction and
guidance to the respective directors.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with the CEO of the holding company to maximize the
relationship between the Manor and related affiliates.
- Ensure the efficient, economic, and quality performance of
assigned departments/areas of responsibility in support of quality
resident care services. Responsible for the identification,
analysis, development, and recommendation of operating policies,
systems, programs, and standards and ensures proper documentation
of same.
- In strong partnership with the Finance, establishes annual
capital and operating budget and monitors compliance with budgeted
revenue and expenses.
- Cultivate the management skills of the management team
resulting in an effective mission driven organization. Establish
and monitor staff performance and development of goals, assign
accountabilities, set objectives, and establish priorities.
- In partnership with Human Resources provides direction to
directors and managers including selection, placement, orientation,
development, performance appraisal, counseling, and enforcement of
policies and procedures.
- Review and monitor through quality assurance, resident and
employee incident reports and action taken; quality of resident
care and that all deviations from standards have appropriate
dispositions. Promote culture of high performance and continuous
improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
- Participate in staff and governing body committee meetings as
required. Attend and serve on professional/civic service
organizations as directed as a representative of Oswego
Health.
- With direction from the President and CEO of Oswego Health
assists in setting the direction of The Manor at Seneca Hill in
response to the developing needs of the community and carrying it
out accordingly. Contribute to the strategic goals and objectives
of the organization.
- Develop and foster effective collaboration between the Manor
and affiliate staff as well as other departments throughout the
organization.
- Provide and maintain effective communication with all areas
throughout the system.
- Report regularly to the board and to the holding company on the
overall activities of the Manor as well as appropriate state,
federal and local agencies on the developments that affect
operation.
- Represent Seneca Hill Manor in relationships with other health
agencies, organizations, as well as advocacy and long-term care
associations; and in matters involving government agencies and
third-party payers.
- Review and endorsement of contracts and agreements on behalf of
Seneca Hill Manor as authorized by the President and CEO of Oswego
Health.
- Establishes, administers, directs, and evaluates organizational
policies, internal controls and procedures and ensures their
alliance with Oswego Health; makes recommendations and/or
participates in decision-making process for the development and
implementation of new long-term care programs and systems that will
support the mission and vision of Oswego Health.
- Oversee major workforce and resource decisions for Seneca Hill
Manor.
- Assures the Manor is in compliance with all authorized
inspecting and regulatory agencies such as the NYS Department of
Health and other regulatory agencies.
- Other duties as assigned by the President & C.E.O. of Oswego
Health.JOB SPECIFICATIONSBachelor's degree required, Masters in
Health Care Administration or Business Administration preferred.
Current NYS Nursing Home Administrator License required. Minimum of
five years administrative and management experience in a long-term
care facility.Job Knowledge: Understand the significance and role
of the institution, understanding and setting of goals, realistic
scheduling and observance of deadlines, knowledge and understanding
of the constituencies and community, integrity, creativity, high
standards, persistence, and achievement oriented.ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to travel independently within system and in the
community to attend various meetings with other departmental
personnel and the public.
- Ability to work under pressure, irregular hours. Ability to
coordinate multiple demands on time.ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL SKILL
- Participate in education and industry specific initiatives
intended for the advancement of healthcare. With
administrative/medical staff endorsement, participate in the
assessment, demonstration and facilitation of innovative techniques
and equipment.
- Maintain professional affiliations and enhance professional
growth and development by keeping abreast of latest trends in
health care administration with an emphasis on long-term care.
- Direct and supervise quality risk management and resident
safety programs as required. Participate in community health
education. Maintain effective disaster preparedness programs.
Function as the facility HPN Coordinator.
- Ability to understand financial reports including budgetary
guidelines and project expenditures.
- Oversee maintenance of department records to include resident
medical records and all related documents, administrative reports,
supply and equipment inventories, budgetary information.ESSENTIAL
SENSORY & INTERPERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work under stress, interruptions and tight
deadlines.
- Independent judgment to determine project guidelines, purpose,
follow-through and completion.
- Ability to assign and delegate work, problem solve, answer
questions and evaluate results of performance.
- Ability to communicate, in small and large groups, with
residents, visitors, board members, physicians, co-workers, and
various business and community representatives.Pay Range;
$145,000-$160,000/annuallyEmployee salary is based on commensurate
