Executive Advisor to the President for Strategic InitiativesPOSITION DETAILSMedgar Evers College (MEC), a nationally recognized leader in urban-serving education, is one of twenty-five colleges within the dynamic City University New York (CUNY) System. Named for the late civil rights leader, Medgar Wiley Evers (1925-1963), the College's mission is to develop and maintain high quality, professional, career-oriented undergraduate degree programs in the context of liberal education. Located in Central Brooklyn, MEC was established in 1970 with a mandate to meet the educational and social needs of the Central Brooklyn community. The College is committed to a student-centered education and advancing knowledge through scholarly research.The Executive Advisor to the President for Strategic Initiatives will serve as a key advisor to the President of Medgar Evers College playing a critical role in driving university-wide strategic initiatives and ensuring operational efficiency. This role will focus on executing high-priority projects, aligning departmental goals with the university's long-term vision and assessing institutional processes for continuous improvement.S/He will develop, implement and oversee complex internal and external projects within the purview of the President to ensure effective administration. The Executive Advisor will work across all levels of the institution, providing leadership and coordination to ensure that the President's agenda is advanced effectively and efficiently.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with the President to design, plan, and execute strategic initiatives that align with MEC's mission, vision, and goals;
- Coordinate efforts to develop, implement, and track projects related to the college strategic plan, its goals and anticipated outcomes and report on the progress, addressing any challenges or barriers to success;
- Manage special projects assigned by the President, ensuring their timely and successful completion;
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement new programs, policies, and procedures that drive operational efficiency and effectiveness;
- Communicate with members of the executive leadership team on the role of their unit in the implementation of new initiatives;
- Serve as a liaison between the President's Office and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring alignment on strategic goals;
- Collaborate with college stakeholders on institutional planning and other issues that impact the college and in consultation with the president, prepare and/or contribute to the development of reports, briefings, presentations and responses on institutional planning and strategic issues;
- Support the President in decision-making by conducting research, analyzing data, and offering strategic recommendations;
- Identify and analyze key trends in higher education and recommend initiatives to maintain MEC's competitive advantage;
- Manage grants obtained by the Office of the President;
- Represent MEC at meetings, conferences, and events to promote
the university's strategic vision and
initiatives.QUALIFICATIONSThis position is in CUNY's Executive
Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a
Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience. The
successful candidate must possess a graduate degree, preferably an
MBA; excellent communication skills, proven ability to cultivate
fruitful relationships, experience working with executives, and
experience conducting research.CUNY TITLEAdministratorCOMPENSATION
AND BENEFITS$150,000 - Salary commensurate with education and
