Enterprise Payments Product & Technology division is modernizing
our core payment processing platforms to support the growing scale
and complexity of how customers make payments and move money. These
platforms are critical to transaction processing, resilience, and
compliance. Our efforts focus on enhancing speed, scalability, and
efficiency while ensuring security, reliability, and a seamless
customer experience.Role Overview:The Check Payments Product Lead
is a strategic product leadership role responsible for driving the
modernization, efficiency, and resilience of the Retail Bank's and
broader Capital One enterprise check processing capabilities. This
role leads a cross-functional pod of product managers, software
engineers, operations, risk managers, and analysts to ensure
seamless check payment processing from deposit to clearing and
settlement, across various customer and business channels. The pod
is accountable for optimizing the end-to-end check payments
lifecycle, ensuring accurate and timely processing, enhancing fraud
detection and risk controls while improving operational efficiency.
This includes modernizing legacy systems, integrating automation
and AI-driven capabilities, and ensuring compliance with evolving
industry best practices and regulatory requirements. The pod is
also responsible for maintaining and enhancing the check processing
platform architecture, including real-time processing components,
image-based clearing solutions, and exception handling workflows.
As a Senior Manager, Product Manager this role also includes
mentoring and coaching junior product managers, developing talent
within the team, and evaluating performance against role and
level-based expectations. The Check Payments Product Lead plays a
crucial role in shaping the Bank's check modernization strategy,
ensuring the platform meets both current operational needs and

- Develop and communicate the product vision and strategy for key
components and features
- Understand the needs of business stakeholders, data scientists,
engineers, and Capital One customers
- Prioritize the pod's product backlog to maximize business and
customer outcomes
- Incorporate customer insights and analytics to inform product
strategy and design
- Partner closely with engineering leadership to evolve tech
architecture and build new capabilities
- Enable collaboration and ensure communication between
teams
- Support the team with escalation and resolution of
impediments
- Make hard trade-offs to achieve goalsBasic Qualifications:
- At least 4 years of experience working with cross-functional
teams to deliver consumer experiences.
- At least 4 years of experience working on the core product
platforms that power digital experiences
- At least 4 years of digital industry experience for
consumers
- Bachelor's Degree or military experiencePreferred
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience with web and client-side mobile
platforms
- At least 2 years of experience as a Product Owner in an Agile
development process

maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below,
by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for
candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and
refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of
this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based
upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.McLean,
VA: $193,000 - $220,300 for Sr. Mgr, Product ManagementNew York,
NY: $210,500 - $240,300 for Sr. Mgr, Product ManagementRichmond,
VA: $175,500 - $200,300 for Sr. Mgr, Product ManagementCandidates
hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range
associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary
amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be
reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.This role is also
eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which
may include cash bonus(es) and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
Incentives could be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on
