For detailed information regarding the 55-a Program, please visit the following link: .Compensation: Senior Quality Control Specialist I (TA): $90,319-$102,064 Senior Quality Control Specialist II (TA): $97,548-$109,250 Senior Quality Control Specialist III (TA): $105,348-$115,784 Senior Quality Control Specialist I (OA): $90,319-$102,064 Senior Quality Control Specialist II (OA): $97,548-$109,250 Senior Quality Control Specialist III (OA): $105,348-$115,784 Quality Control Specialist (TA): $71,882-$99,986Responsibilities: Under general supervision and with broad scope of independent judgment, the selected candidate will be responsible for performing dimensional inspections of complex machined parts using surface plate, height gauge, vernier calipers, micrometers and other precision measuring devices as well as performing first article, in-process and final inspections; and conduct mechanical and electro-mechanical tests on Revenue Fare Collection equipment. Responsibilities will also include but are not limited to:

  • Compiling and evaluating statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of fabricated parts and assemblies;
  • Drafting using CAD software;
  • Creating production plans & workflows for manufacturing;
  • Developing and optimizing manufacturing processes, including CNC machining procedures, tooling, and fixturing.In addition, the selected candidate must have a good understanding of shop math, blueprint reading/interpretation and record keeping as well as have the ability to effectively communicate with managers, supervisors, and machinists for assignments and for resolving machining or quality issues.Education and Experience:Senior Quality Control Specialist I-III: 1. A Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial technology, or a related field from an accredited college or university and six years of full-time paid professional experience in quality control including the application of probability and statistics; statistical quality control; experiment design; planning; basic reliability concepts; quality data collection; quality auditing; and/or systems development with quality control programs; or 2. At least 60 credits from an accredited college or university or technical school with specialization in engineering technology or a related field and eight years of the experience described in "1" above; or 3. A satisfactory equivalent. However, all candidates must have at least 60 credits from an accredited college, university or technical school with specialization in engineering technology or a related field.Quality Control Specialist: 1. A Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial technology, or a related field from an accredited college or university, and four years of full-time paid professional experience in quality control including the preparation of detailed plans for inspection of vendor materials, in-process inspection, final inspection, and other types of inspection; the application of non-destructive tests, calibration systems, and valid sampling plans; or 2. At least 60 credits from an accredited college, university or technical school with specialization in engineering technology or a related field and six years of the experience described in "1" above; or 3. A satisfactory equivalent. However, all candidates must have at least 60 credits from an accredited college, university or technical school with specialization in engineering technology or a related field.Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of CAD and CAM Software for CNC Machining.
  • Knowledge of 3D Modeling design techniques.
  • Ability to use and program state of the art machining equipment.
  • Ability to create, update, interpret and redline detailed design drawings.
  • Strong PC skills: Microsoft Office, Visio, and other applications.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and business staff.
